The Hotel as a Piece of Art: The gentle curves designed by architect Togo Murano will Soothe the tired bodies and minds of travelers
The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike, opened in the autumn of 1986 ,was designed by world-renowned architect Togo Murano.
One of the building's distinctive features is its frequent use of curves-a design motif that can be seen throughout the exterior, lobby, and even in the furniture and lighting. The cylindrical hotel is built around a central courtyard, offering a quiet, peaceful space to enjoy cherry blossoms, vibrant autumn foliage, and seasonal blooms throughout the year.
The traditional Sukiya-zukuri style Japanese tea house in the garden was designed by Togo Murano to emphasize harmony with nature. The atmosphere is especially beautiful when the surrounding trees are ablaze with autumn colors. Every year, the Japanese garden and other areas of the grounds are illuminated to highlight the autumn foliage.
We invite you to experiece a peaceful autumn surrounded by art in the northern Kyoto.
